Coaching Approach

Developing efficient,
race-ready riders.

How we coach: the principles that shape every session, every drill, and every conversation we have on the hill.

Core principles

Four things we coach above all else.

  • Flow and momentum through terrain
  • Timing and absorption
  • Tactical line choice
  • Energy management across a course

Set up early — ride into the next feature, not out of this one.

How we work

A typical training day

Every camp follows a predictable rhythm so riders can focus on training, not logistics. The structure repeats across every block in the season.

AM

Movement & warm-up

Activation

Off-board mobility, free riding to wake up the legs, and a focused warm-up section drilling one specific movement pattern from the previous day's video.

MID

Course time

Race work

Repeat runs through gates and features, with progressive complexity. Coaches positioned at key sections, with start-line briefs and finish-line debriefs every run.

PM

Video & review

Reflection

Group video review with frame-by-frame analysis. Riders identify their own corrections before coaches add input — building self-coaching habits that last beyond the camp.

Coaching philosophy

Skill first.
Speed follows.

Speed is a result, not a goal. Riders who chase speed before they've built the underlying skill plateau early and pick up bad habits that take years to undo.

Our approach: build the movement, build the timing, build the line — and the speed shows up on its own. Every drill on every camp ladders back to one of those three.

  • Quality reps over volume — better to do ten good runs than thirty sloppy ones
  • Riders own their development — coaches guide, riders decide
  • Mistakes are information, not problems
  • Race day is the test, not the lesson
  • No drama, no shouting — focus is the loudest thing on the hill
